Active listening

Description: this week we have been learning about different types of listening. One is called me too listening another one is active listening and the last one is busy listening.

Big idea: Active listening is the best because the person who your talking lets you talk and showing there interest in what your saying.me too listening is when there to busy talking about what they did then you. Busy listening is when there to busy doing something else.

Feedback-feedfoward: I think your movie is good but your voice could be a bit louder next time but the rest is good. Katie

Evaluation: I think I did well on the acting but I need to work on the lighting.

Feedback: I think you did really good getting it organised for everyone to sign.

Feed-ford: for next time make it a bit more clear/ Jonty

Evaluation:I think I did well on getting it printed and the vote, but need to work on it closer to perfection. I showed MÄ€TAU by getting everyone in poutama to sign it.

Questions for trouble some jones

Why do you think Damien changed his behaviour towards Greg? Because Damien has been in this possession

What do you think the author means by Mum having “other parts of her that were still battered and broken. Parts that couldn’t be stitched up”? Her heart was broken

Why do you think Dad changed his attitude to Greg’s wanting to paint when he saw him? Because his dad made him do nothing he wanted

Eli's Year Book Report Writing Drafts

Ricoh Tournement writing

On the 28th of August 2015, the Ricoh Tournament took place in Palmerston North. The Ricoh Tournament is a tournament that six schools in the Manawatu come together and play each other in sport. We have interviewed four people that played different sport at the Ricoh Tournament and represented Russell Street School. The people that were interviewed were asked a couple of questions and they sounded like they were very passionate about the sport they played. Russell Street School did very well and won two trophies! One for rugby and one for basketball. Sport is really easy to get addicted to and so easy to get passionate about. Cloverlea School did well because they were trained to use different techniques. Basketballer Maraki Aumua say it feels good to win over College Street School two times in a row. In basketball, Fraser Willcock was a very good sport and passed a lot. Hopefully next year Russell Street School will do as good as they did this year and hopefully get a couple more trophies.

Here is a photo of the rugby team who won
